Geoffrey Hopkinson was born on July 3, 1924 in Dinnington, NR Sheffield. He worked as a Police clerk before joining the Royal Navy in January 1943. His first ship was the Ajax, and he served on it from December 1943 until October 1945. The only other ship he worked on was HMS Valiant from 1945 until 1946.
Geoffrey officially left the Royal Navy in September 1946 and eventually worked as a school teacher. Interesting to note is that Geoffrey was an educator in Nottingham, England and Hopkinson Crescent in Ajax sits in the Nottingham Subdivision. - Geographic Coverage
