William John Farley was from Ramsgate, Kent in England as were many of the sailors on HMS Ajax. He was the first casualty of the Battle of the River Plate on the Ajax, dying at the young age of eighteen.
On Remembrance Day, 2000 a tree was planted on Farley Court by council under the Millennium Tree Planting Project. Several residents, the Ajax Branch of the Canadian Legion and the Mayor were present to dedicate the tree. - Geographic Coverage
