- Description
- A black and white photo of the D.I.L. buses.
- Notes
- Due to the size of the plant, the buses were necessary to get the workers out to the various work locations. Nicknamed "cattle cars" by the employees, most were nothing more than trailers pulled by tractor trucks. The windows were shallow and close to the roof, so seated passengers saw only the sky. The seating was simply a wooden bench on each side wall. In a crush, nearly 100 passengers could be squeezed into the bus, most of them standing (hence the nickname).
