I came here as a carpenter. After a short time I was placed in charge of a group of maintenance men on lines 1 and 2, and I think there was about 24 men and I worked at that for a time. I was studying structural engeneering in a correspondance course at the time and eventually I went to what they call the development department which was just that for developing ideas and processes and equipment for use in the war plant. From there I went to the design department which was the drafting department and I stayed there until the end of the war.
