May 29/67 The meeting opened with “O Canada” sung by the school choir, also a polish, irish songs were enjoyed by everyone present. Mrs. Myrtle Armstrong read the minutes which were accepted as read. Mrs. Barter gave the treasurer’s report 208.23. Mrs. Mitchell gave the council Report. It was moved by Janice Mitchell to donate 75.00 to the grade 7 & 8 for the Expo trip seconded by Mrs. long. Kindergarden - Maybe at Almond school nothing definite as yet. Many of the Executive and audience were dressed in centennial outfits. Janice Mitchell introduced the speaker of the evening Mr. Murkar who was a very informative speaker. telling how the country was once Indian territory around 1669. and gave us the history of the country since. Mr. McDonald thanked the speaker. Mrs. Manning thanked those for bringing items and antiques for display especially Mrs. Leathen & Mrs. Bentley. Pickering museum has many items of interest to anyone who would like to see it. The meeting was closed and lunch was served. June was the awards at the close of school Janis Mitchell
