- Description
- A colour photograph of the unveiling of the Simcoe Point Pioneer Cemetery monument. David Percival, chairman of Local Architectural Conservation Advisory Committee (LACAC), is giving a speech.
On the west bank of Duffins Creek – close to Lake Ontario, on what is known as Simcoe Point – is the small Peak-Greenlaw family cemetery. Many descendants of William Peak, the first white settler in the township, rest here. The earliest recorded burial is 1836. The site is marked by a plaque and three memorial maple trees. - Date of Original
