There is a reference to an "aqueduct" in an information insert on an Insurance plan Village for Pickering, a GOAD map dated 1891. Presumably this aqueduct supplied water to the Spink's Mill and entered the mill structure on the 3rd floor according to the notations on the map.

I have been searching for evidence of this "flume" for some time, and can find no evidence of it connecting to the building -- the photo included in the postcard shows nothing indicating this. My best guess as to the existence of the aqueduct may be at the Mill Race Falls location -- east side of Duffin, at the bend of Elizabeth Street.

It is entirely possible that the "flume" connecting from the Mill Race, a channel on the Picov Farm transporting water from a dam located on the Duffin at the present day golf course was never finalized and was simply mentioned in the "planning" stage of the Village's development .

Anyone out there with helpful thoughts?
