GUENETTE, Fedora 'Jo' — At Nipissing Manor, Corbeil, Friday, December 9, 2005, Fedora 'Jo' Mantha beloved wife of the late Louvain 'Smokey' Guenette (December 1998) in her 90th year. Loving mother of Pierre Guenette of Sydney, Australia, Richard J.P. Guenette (Rebecca) of Ottawa and Pat Guenette (Marc Picard) of North Bay. Lovingly remembered by four grandsons, Nathan, Matthew, Martin and Pierre. Dear sister of Marion Audet (Tony), Theresa Lamothe and Rhean Mantha. Predeceased by her parents, Loranda and Pierre Mantha, two sisters, Camilia and Patricia Mantha and four brothers, Phil, Bert, Jeff and Lomer Mantha. A North Bay native, Fédora was born and raised within a large family on Worthington Street. During the depression, she left school early to work as a hairdresser for her aunt. After the war, she married Louvain (Smokey) Guenette and they enjoyed 54 years together. In their retirement years, they travelled and spent many winters in Florida. Mom was an excellent cook, gardener and musician. She loved singing while playing her piano or organ. Her memory will be cherished by all her family and friends. Family receiving friends at McGUINTY FUNERAL HOME, today from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be conducted at McGuinty Funeral Home Chapel, Tuesday at 11:15 a.m. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. Donations to North Bay General Hospital Foundation would be gratefully appreciated.
