- Description
- Up to the early 1940s, many Field homes were posted with "quarantine signs". This is only one historical Field Township quarantine signs. Others included notices about measles, small pox and typhoid fever and other communicable illnesses.
- Notes
- Beginning in 1922, Field council counted on the local doctor regarding the postings on houses. When posted, residents could not leave, food had to be brought to them until they were no longer a threat to other residents. Children were also taken out of school if they lived in a quarantined house. This practice continued until the discovery of penicillin when such illnesses could be cured.[During the amalgamation many Field municipal information were thrown at the dump, these signs were rescued for posterity]
