Description
Inondation de la Rivière Sturgeon c. 1979 / Bottle-neck at Canadian Pacific Railway bridge held up Sturgeon River flow in 1979 flood.
Notes
The Abitibi company widened this chasm in the Sturgeon River to let the annual spring freshet waters of the river flow to Lake Nipissing following the ravaging 1979. The widening of the Sturgeon River rock-cut under the Canadian Pacific Railway bridge lessened yearly flood conditions for the Abitibi mill.
