- Description
- In 1959, the Trafalgar station at 1298 Rebecca Street and Bronte Road was built to cover the new residents and commercial enterprises that had grown up in the western area of the Township between Dorval Drive and Third Line as well as continuing to service the Bronte/Trafalgar area west and north of the town of Oakville.
The original, smaller Bronte station continued with a pumper for the short-term. Full-time employees began in Trafalgar Township in 1960 and in January 1962, the new Town of Oakville and Trafalgar Township amalgamated which resulted in the new Oakville Fire Department. This included the former Village of Bronte firefighters.
This is the new 1959 Ford tiltcab American Marsh Pumper No. 5.
The Rebecca Street station was replaced and torn down in the early 1990's.
