This photo shows my mother, then named Lois Biggar in the back row near the left. She was a teacher. She told stories of walking to school from her father's mixed farm, at Sixth L north of Burnhamthorpe, to start the woodstove for heat and to cook oatmeal for kids' breakfasts. She started at age 17 and early in her career, all grades were in one room. This photo is probably from late 1940's.

Lois's grandmother was Hettie Munn, who used to play the organ at Munn's Church (yes, the one still on Dundas) until she was 98 years old. Lois's father was Wilbert Biggar, Reeve of Trafalgar Township.
