Double Death In One Family ;

Father Dies Few Hours After Son Kille by Bull ; Fatality at Oakville ; (Special Despatch to The Globe) ; Oakville, Dec. 11 - A few hours after his son, William J. Bigger, was crushed to death by a bull, Saturday morning, Michael L. Bigger died. He was 96 years of age; his son was 60. The father never realized that his son had been killed.

Shortly after 9 o`clock William Bigger was found crushed to death in the stall of a three year-old Holstein bull. Several men were in the barn, and on hearing the noise, rushed to his assistance. He was dead before aid could reach him. At 5 o`clock in the afternoon his father passed away.

Michael Bigger was born near Stony Creek in 1826. His father was a United Empire Loyalist. Some 77 years ago he moved to Oakville, and purchased the farm on the sixth line, Trafalgar township, where he died.

A number of years ago, Mr. Bigger retired to Oakville, but after his wife died he moved back to the farm, where his two sons were living. While in Oakville he sat for a time on the Town Council, and took an active part in all public affairs. He was very active in the Methodist Church, and for a number of years was one of the officials. He was a veteran of `66.

One son, Albert, on the old homestead, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren survive him.

William Bigger was fixing the chain of the bull when the animal suddenly lurched forward and crushed him against the mager. The bull had not previously shown any vicious tendencies.

Mr. Bigger was a bachelor, living and farming with his brother, Albert. He was an active member of the Ontario Milk Producers Association.

Next Tuesday father and son will be buried together in St. Jude`s Cemetery.
