- Description
- The cabin, built in 1820, was originally situated at 7th Line (Trafalgar Road) and Marlborough Court, adjacent to the former village of Vernerville. It was rediscovered during development and reconstructed in 1973. It is now located at 1 Forsythe Street, also known as Shipyard Park by the mouth of the Sixteen Mile Creek. In 2015, it was moved to a new location within the Park and at this time, we took photographs of the interior as well as the restored exterior to add to this record.
George and Mary Lyon emigrated from England in 1879 and raised their family of 9 children in this house. - Subject(s)
