- Lilly was one of the daughters of George Ludlow, b.1805 in England, who married Frances Cruise, b.1815 in Ireland, in 1835 in Trafalgar Township.
Frances and George's children were:
Jennie b.1838 married Samuel DEARING
Martha b.1843 married John SLACER
Mary b. 1848 married Arthur BEATTY
Barbara b.1851 married George LONG
Elizabeth b.1854 married Thomas FREEMAN
Lilly b.1859 married Alfred HUGHES
Henrietta b.1864 married John JOHNSTONE
All these daughters were born, lived and died in Trafalgar Township, except Mary who died in Toronto. - Notes
- A photograph and record of the Ludlow family home is linked to this record for your futher information. This 1830's cabin stood at lot 25, Concession 2 NDS, the address today is 1495 Burnhamthorpe Road West. It is known as the Slater log cabin, though the actual family name was Slacer. It was originally settled by George and Frances (nee Cruise) Ludlow. Their daughter, Martha, married John Slacer.
