- Herbert Inglehart, B Nov 28, 1866. D 1959. Oldest son of William Cyrus Inglehart and Eleanor McLaren. He married Margaret Elvira Coverdale Apr. 10, 1900.
He was born November 28, 1866,Palermo, Halton Co. Ontario, died September 03, 1959, St. Joseph's Hospital, Guelph, Ontario.
He was always very proud of the fact that he was "a year older than Canada."

Lovina Rose, September 16,1874 - April 27,1954. Herbert Inglehart - 1864 (sic) -1959. Daughter Jean E. Inglehart, 1901 - 1958, daughter E. Marion (Hicks) Durrant 1907 - 1992". Buried in Palermo United, Trafalgar Township, Nelson County.

Funeral service was held for Herbert Inglehart, 92,of Guelph, who died at St. Joseph's Hospital. Internment was in Palermo Cemetery. He was one of the leading farmers and cattle breeders in Trafalgar Township
and played an important part in municipal affairs at the turn of the century. He was closely associated with the work of the United Church at Palermo and was superintendent of the Sunday School. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Eleanor Lavina Rose, in 1954, and is survived by four daughters: Mrs. M. Durrant, Guelph; Mrs. R.J. Kelly, North Bay; Mrs. R.H. Finlay, Lindsay; Mrs. G. Standon, Brantford;
15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

- December 16, 1952 - "The United Church Christmas party was held in the church rooms on Tuesday evening. Mr. M. Durrant of Guelph showed moving pictures for the children and Santa was on hand to hand out the
gifts. Mr. H. Inglehart of Guelph was able to present prizes to those saying the most memory verse during the year." (newspaper clipping - Herbert Inglehart's papers.)
- From the Star, May 29, 1908..... "Herbert Inglehart of Merton has 50 acres of clover without a bare spot, and already it is nearly a foot high. The
prospects for wheat and hay have never been better for years." (Newspaper clipping from Herbert Inglehart's scrapbook)
- " Herbert Inglehart was re-elected worthy patriarch of the Palermo division, Sons of Temperance,No. 143. Mr. Inglehart has held the office for several
years. The division was formed in 1850" (clipping in Herbert Inglehart's scrapbook dated January 6,1930)
