- The John Knox House is an historic house in Edinburgh, Scotland, reputed to have been owned and lived in by Protestant Reformer John Knox (1505-1572) during the 16th century. The house itself was built in 1490, featuring a wooden gallery and hand-painted ceiling. Over the next few centuries many decorations and paintings were added, and the house and its contents are now a museum. The building is owned by the Church of Scotland.

Had a splendid sermon at St. Giles' yesterday. I wish you could have heard it. It was on Judas and his crime and gave one much more sympathy for the traitor. Was the minister right in preaching such a sermon? The Passion Play had the same effect, at least for me it had.
Almost two years since you left F'ton.
