Corey was born on Friday July 4th, 1975 in Grand Falls, Newfoundland. Corey was a beloved son to Allan and Pearl Andrews of Deer Lake, Newfoundland; devoted partner to Stacey Luong (and Gidget, their dog), loving brother to Linda Rerrie (nee Andrews) (Tony) and Larry (Judy) Andrews. He will be sadly missed by his niece Amy (Marshall) and his close-knit circle of friends. Corey completed grade school in Newfoundland and then moved to Nova Scotia where he attended technical college in the field of electrical engineering and computer science. Upon completion of his training, Corey was once again on the move, this time to Ontario where he started his professional career in the world of information technology (IT). It was his true passion working with computers, networks and navigating all aspects of the internet. Corey was a master of his IT profession, there was no problem too simple or too complex that he could not solve. He was everyone's problem solver when it appeared there was no solution. Corey took great pride in helping anyone who came to him with a problem. His calm, yet assertive manner earned him their confidence, respect and admiration. Corey was an adrenaline junkie as seen in his enjoyment of roller coasters, zip lines (the faster, the higher, the better), bungie jumping, indoor parachuting and outdoor-tandem parachuting. He found soleus in building campfires, dipping his foot in a cool lake, cruising on cruise ships, geocaching and sharing quality time with family and friends. Corey was loved by all. There was never a person that met Corey that did not instantly like him. Corey touched the lives of many through his friendship, generosity, kindness, mentorship, giving freely of his time, knowledge and sharing his love to help his fellow man. He was just that kind hearted. The short time we spent with Corey was a gift. In his untimely passing, he is showing us to "do it today, don't put it off until tomorrow". The family would like to thank and commend the staff of Juravinski Cancer Center in Hamilton, ON for their tireless work and compassion they bestowed on Corey and his family during this difficult time. Their effort and support was greatly appreciated. A Celebration of Life for Corey will take place on Thursday July 7th, 2022 at 11 a.m. following by an inurnment at Glen Oaks Funeral Home and Cemetery, 3164 Ninth Line, Oakville, ON, L6H 1A8. For those unable to attend the service, you may view the livestream at www.glenoaks.tv KOLBUC, Robert "Bob" 1947 - 2022 ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Robert (Bob) Joseph Kolbuc died peacefully with his beloved wife, Pauline, by his side at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital on Sunday, June 26, 2022. He was a loving husband, proud father, and doting grandfather who will be greatly missed by Pauline, his son Stephen (Lily), his daughters Sarah (Dave) and Lindsay (Rob), and his grandchildren Campbell, Eden, Fiona, Jenna, Liam, and Nathan. Bob cherished family get-togethers, holiday meals, trips, and attending his children's and grandchildren's activities and events. Born to parents Betty and Joseph Kolbuc in 1947, Bob grew up with his sister, Mary JoAnne, in west St. Catharines and in his memoir fondly recalled a childhood attending festivals and parades, holiday gatherings with family, and fishing trips with cousins. Following in his father's and dear uncle, Dominic's, footsteps, Bob was a natural and avid golfer. Blessed with an effortless, smooth swing, Bob enjoyed playing golf with friends and family throughout his life. Even more than his excellent skill, Bob is remembered for being an enjoyable companion on the course, regularly congratulating and uplifting the whole group. Bob had a passion for retail business and enjoyed a successful career with Sears Canada. Beginning with Sears in St. Catharines and being promoted coast to coast to work with wonderful people over 35 years, Bob's strong work ethic allowed him to learn and excel in various exciting professional roles. Bob's time with Sears led him to meet Zeke O'Connor, who became a close friend and mentor throughout his Sears career, and into retirement. While working with Zeke, Bob met Sir Edmund Hillary and initially worked as a volunteer leader with the Sir Edmund Hillary Foundation Canada. Inspired by their dedication to the Sherpa communities located in the High Himalayas, Bob opted to devote his time along with Zeke and Ed, to the philanthropic missions of the Foundation --- improving Healthcare, Education, and the Environment at the base of Mount Everest, Nepal. During his time there, which spanned 45 years, Bob was voted to the SEHF Board of Directors, and later earned the role of Associate Executive Director. He felt honored to receive many awards for his contribution to charitable work he enjoyed so much, including managing the many successful fundraisers and connecting with the wonderful people he met along the way. Family and friends remember Bob's positive, outgoing personality as fun-loving, full of life, and always uplifting to those around him. Bob was famous in the family for his guitar playing and personalized poems on birthdays and special occasions. He had an authentic charisma that allowed him to connect with people, establishing numerous wonderful and genuine relationships. Bob treasured the many beautiful lifelong friendships that remained strong even following moves across the country and which supported him until his last day. Bob was a wonderful, supportive, and dedicated family man. He admired and appreciated his beautiful, caring wife and was exceptionally proud of the life and family they built together. He will be missed beyond words. A memorial service will be held in late Summer/early Fall to honour his life. In lieu of flowers the family requests a donation in Bob's memory be made to the Sir Edmund Hillary Foundation, in support of the Kunde Hospital. This hospital is located in the Solu-Khumbu region of Mount Everest, Nepal. PARÉ, Mary (née Fietsch) ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Mary Paré (née Mary Louise Fietsch) on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at the age of 81. She will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her husband John of 58 years, son Steven (Lina) and daughter Susan (Sergei Drobner) both of Oakville. She will also be sorely missed by her four grandchildren, Julia, Michael, David, and Sarah. Mary was predeceased by her parents Oscar and Bertha and sister Carol Anne and brothers-in- law Ed (Penny) and Lou and survived by sister-in-law Marilyn. Mary worked in the Operating Room at the "old" Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital. She was an avid golfer, making many friends at the Sarnia G&CC and at Wyldewood Golf Club. Visitors will be received at the Glen Oaks Funeral Home, 3164 Ninth Line, Oakville for visitation on Wednesday, July 6th from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will take place in the Glen Oaks Chapel on Thursday, July 7th at 1:00 p.m. Reception to follow.
