Dear husband of Jane Thompson (Becker). Cherished father of Alexander and Dana. Adored brother of Sue Nelson (Brian). Fondly remembered by nephews Christopher and Kirk, and nieces Katie, Carla, Emilee, and Allie. He will be missed by brother-in-law Frank Bowman (Nancy) and sisters-in -law Fran Becker and Mary Lynn Becker, along with numerous long-time friends. Predeceased by his parents Terence and Winifred Thompson. Grant was a dedicated and devoted father and husband. He graduated as a systems design engineer from the University of Waterloo and received an MBA from the Schulich School of Business. The family spent many summers camping in Killbear Provincial Park and participated in many activities in the community. Grant was an avid amateur astronomer, skilled at woodworking, and a computer whiz. He will be remembered for his infectious love of British comedy and every bad sci-fi movie ever made. A special thank you to the staff at Waterford Long Term Care residence in Oakville for their compassion- ate, dignified care and support to Grant. A Celebration of Grant's life for friends and family will be held on Saturday, December 4 at 2 p.m. at Oakview Funeral Home in Oakville. Proof of vaccination will be required for entry, a livestream will be available for those not able to attend.
