Waste reminders and tips • Garbage bags/cans must not weigh more than 23 kg (50 lbs). • No oversized containers, maximum 125 litres or 50 cm wide x 100 cm high (20 inches wide x 39 inches high). • Bag and tie all garbage material. Loose itemswill not be collected. • Bag and tie all organics before placing in Green Cart. Loose itemswill not be collected. • Please wrap all mattresses and box springs in plastic before placing at the curb for bulk waste collection. Reduce wind-blown litter by: • place and tie recycling in a clear plastic bag; • not overfilling your Blue Box; and • placing material out on the morning of your collection day by 7 a.m., not the night before. Yardwaste collectionhas resumed! Yard waste is turned into high-quality compost in Halton. Please follow these yard waste tips: • Do not place dirt, sod or grass in your yard waste. • Use paper yard waste bags or reusable, rigid containers with a yellow yard waste label (no lid). • Tie and bundle brush no larger than 2 m x 1 m (6ft x 3 ft) wide, with branches a maximum of 7.5 cm (3 inches) in diameter. • Yard waste can also be dropped off at the HaltonWaste Management Site (5400 Regional Road 25, Milton). Cancellationof 2021 spring wastemanagement events Based on the current restrictions of the Provincial Framework, and out of an abundance of caution for the health and safety of residents and Regional staff, the difficult decision has been made to cancel the following annual spring recycling and waste events: • SpecialWaste Drop-Off Days • Compost Give-Away Please bring residential household hazardous waste (20 litre limit) and electronics to the HaltonWaste Management Site.
