Pat, in his 85th year, was loving husband and best friend of Ida for 64 wonderful years. Dear father of Michelle (Len), Shawn, Dominic (Zu), Patricia (Hank), and Roxanne (Dave). Pat was the proud grandfather to six grandchildren and three great -grandchildren as well as several more step- grandchildren and great- grandchildren. Pat will be fondly remembered by his sister Marie, his brothers Mike (Linda) and Bill (Merrell), and his sister-in-law Lindy. Predeceased by his parents Joe and Gerty, and brothers Jack and Tom. Pat was kind, compassionate, principled, extremely patient and a great listener. His sense of humour and quick wit made him stand out; in fact, he is often referred to as the "King of the one-liners". He was also a most dedicated fan and supporter of his children and grandchildren's athletic and personal endeavours, always making time, regardless of the distance or conditions, to attend. As a businessperson, Pat was very successful and very much ahead of his time particularly in his strategies and approach. At the time of his retirement, he was the President of International Operations at Stemco. He was always equally comfortable on the shop floor or in the board room and exemplified the principle of lifelong learning. He loved to fish and spent many an hour on the water and was also a member of the Oakville Power & Sail Squadron. He was an avid curler and golfer and will be missed by all of his friends at the Oakville and Burlington Curling Clubs as well as the Burlington Golf and Country Club. Pat was also long-time member and supporter of the Knights of Columbus. Friends and family will be received on Friday, February 14th at Oakview Funeral Home, 56 Lakeshore Rd. He will be sadly missed by Deborah (nee Nolen), his beloved wife of 62 years, and by their children Christopher, Jonathan, and Gretchen, and their spouses Lisa and Yashin,YY and grandchildren Hannah, Mason, Dexter and Madelaine. After graduating from McGill School ofArchitecture in 1958, Lloyd began his architectural adventures working with I.M. Pei on Place Ville Marie, followed by opening his own firm in old Montreal, participating in Expo 67,7 and expanding to offices in VancVVV ouver and TorTTT onto. As an architect, urban planner and teacher, his projects included the Canadian Embassy in Saudi Arabia, National Capital Commission consulting and lectures at McGill University. Somewhere along the way, his contributions were also acknowledged with the Governor General's Award in Architecture. He will be remembered for his recent stoic resilience, but much more so for his years of unbounded joie de vie. When restaurant meals meandered far into the night, we often returned home with a newly purchased tablecloth; Dadhad the habit of spontaneously developing design concepts on any available surface. Lloyd was a kind, honest and generous man who always said 'Ye'Y'Y s!' to life, even when life seemed to say 'No' to him. Cremation has taken place, and a small memorial is planned for the spring. She is the loved Mother of Joseph (Linda), Andrew (Joan) and Leonard (Tanya), and Grandmother of Leander, Chantel and Alban. She is also the loved "Tia Margot" to too many to list here. Having battled cancer for more than 20 years while caring for an ailing husband she set an example of dedication, hard work and good cheer. She would often exclaim the advice, "put yourself in God's hands!", as she did for herself. Her and her example are greatly missed.
