In 1963 during which he was President of the Oakville Kinsmen Club, extensive funds were raised to assist in construction of a new building to house the growing Bruce-Lyn school for intellectually challenged children. Outside of work, Howard's devotion was to golf, with memberships at the Oakville Golf Club and the Glades Golf and Country Club in Naples. He also volunteered several times at the Canadian Open when it was held at Oakville's Glen Abbey Golf Club. The family extends their sincere gratitude to the staff of Oakville's Vistamere Retirement Residence, Port Credit's Mississauga Long Term Care Facility, and Post Inn Village for providing such kind and compassionate care.
