"The party has a policy to expel someone doing things to the detriment of the party," he said. "A new party draws people from all over and some are undesirable. As events occur, their memberâ€" ships are reviewed and people are expelled. It happens to all new parties." Bucher said she understood several members of the local ridâ€" ing executive wanted her out of the party because they are afraid she will attempt a comeback. Former Oakvilleâ€"Milton Reform candidate, Richard Malboeuf, said the national party executive expelled Bucher and the other Ontario members. Bucher called the expulsion "a total surprise" and was upset no reasons had been given and no hearing was offered. She said her democratic right to defend herself was denied and her trial and sentence were executed in absentia. "The silence is quite deafenâ€" ing," she said. "I consider the terâ€" mination to be in contravention of the party constitution. I will conâ€" tinue to badger away and apply for arbitration."
