The hard work she puts into dance has given her the op­ portunity to represent Goggin-Carroll and Cana­ da around North America and Europe, which is amazing as she loves trav­ elling. Abby Hennessy, 12, started dancing with the Goggin-Carroll School at the age of four. Currently the Eastern Canadian Champion for the second year in a row, and ranked 45th in the World, Abby has also competed internation­ ally. In addition to her suc­ cess in solo dancing, Abby and her team have been the Eastern Canadian champi­ ons for many years in the eight-hand and four-hand Ceili, including recently winning the Eastern Cana­ dian eight-hand title in No­ vember 2017. Six other dancers, in­ cluding Milton's Catherine Hoare, Emily Hambly and Gavin McCarthy-Wil- loughby from Mississau­ ga, Brynna McVittie of Wa- terdown, and Josh Vilim and Jameson Kukolic, who are both from Oakville, will also be competing. Until 2000, the presti­ gious World Irish Dance Championships was never held outside the 26 coun­ ties of Ireland.
