SHOPPING CENTRE (Across from Oakville GO Station) baked goods, Employment Service Stroke Foundation 845â€"8341 ROAR‘s first ever East Egg Hunt promises to be a funâ€"filled event ROAR, the River Oaks Association of Residents, will hold its first ever Easter Egg Hunt this Sunday, April 4th, promising a fun filled afternoon The event takes place at the River Oaks Recreation Centre from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Admission is free with a nonâ€"perishable food donation for the Oakville FareShare Foodbank. All children must be accompaâ€" nied by an adult. In addition to the hunting for Easter Eggs, there will be Pin the Tail on the Bunny, mural coloring,lucky draws, daffodils for sale by the Canadian Cancer Society, Ukrainian Easter Egg decoâ€" rating by the St. Volodymyr Cultural Centre; NHRA Rail ityâ€"minded Dragsters from Lancaster Racing, and face painting by Clowns in Christ from St. John‘s United Church. "Keeping the very small chilâ€" dren‘s safety in mind, ROAR has opted to forgo the traditional ‘hunt‘ and has instead organized an obstaâ€" cle course," explains Lesley Carnovale, ROAR‘s social commitâ€" tee chairperson. "No child will leave empty handed or fail the course." This children‘s obstacle course will consist of 10 stations including hoola hoops, kiddy golf, barrel crawl and limbo. Each child will receive an Easter ‘Goodie Bag‘ filled with surprises â€" just for parâ€" ticipation. A coloring contest, to be judged by Mayor Ann Mulvale, is also part of the festivities. Entries must be dropped off at the River Oaks Recreation Centre by midnight Saturday, April 3rd, and the judging and awarding of prizes will be done by the mayor on Sunday at 3 p.m. Expected to make an appearance at ROAR‘s First Ever Easter Egg Hunt are mascots McGruff from the Halton Regional Police, RO Bear from River Oaks School Parentâ€" Teacher Association, and the Easter Bunny. Celebrities include the mayor, Councillors Liz Behrens and Sean Weir, and trustees Debbie Marklew and Gerry O‘Halloran. Other participating organizations include the Halton Regional Police DARE program, Oakville Humane Society, the River Oaks and College Park Community Consultation Committee, and the 12th Oakville Pathfinders Girls Guides.
