Day after glori ous day I learn of victims outing alleged perpetrators on TV, print media, radio and social media. These are indeed stories of victim s' courage and resiliency and their stories are bringing alleged grotesquely behaved men to their proverbial knees. And yet, I am worried. For those of us working in the under funded and overworked field of violence prevention, dare I say, we are still consid ered by many as insignificant, whiney and vindictive. Year after year, we would dream of the day the tipping point would come where others would understand the magnitude and devastation that sexual harassment and assault cause and cost. What would it look like? What or who would be the catalyst? How would the world respond? It is happening. Julie Pehar, Oakville It is a watershed, transformational and utterly joyful time in history and we can not be complacent. The problem is, the experts aren't speaking, rather everyone else is -- and this is dangerous. I would like to hear and read more ex pert voices, more victim voices and less random opinion that dominates the nar rative and is often mired in historical bi ases and non-truths. These conversations cannot be allowed to bottom-dwell and perpetuate lies. We are so much smarter than this. Every community across this country is home to individuals with critical experi ence and also those with impressive aca demic expertise. We need to find the experts and ask them to teach us. Everyone is listening -- let's get it right.
