Tamara Henderson presents Seasons End: Out of Body until Dec. 30 at Oakville Galleries at Centennial Square. In her writing, 16m m film, sculpture, painting and instal lation, Henderson is concerned with altering everyday ob jects in fantastical and intuitive ways, often in reference to dreams, fairy tales, the spiritual realm and the natural world. Developed on a residency in Scotland in 2 0 1 5 , Seasons End: Out of Body is a travelling installation that has taken place at Glasgow International, REDCAT in Los Angeles and most recently in London, England as a choreographed performance in the Serpentine Galleries' 2 0 1 7 architectural pavilion. On its final stop in Oakville, Seasons End Out of Body will expand on these previous presentations, bringing together an assortment of objects and materials collected by the art ist on her recent travels. It is produced by REDCAT and Glasgow International with support from Oakville Galleries, Serpentine Galleries and Rodeo. Melding conceptual art with performance, mysticism and an eclectic DIY sensibility, FASTWURMS (Kim Kozzi and Dai Skuse) have developed an influential multi-disciplinary art practice over the past four decades. Their new site-specifi c exhibition reimagines and trans forms the former estate home of Gairloch Gardens, suggest ing an alternate history for the site as Warlok Gardens. In this narrative, W arlok Gardens functioned from 1 9 4 3 1944 as the cover location and code name for an ultra-secret allied military intelligence unit, UR BZRK Warlok. Its mem bers worked closely with agents at Bletchley Park -- a cen tral site for British code breakers during the Second World W ar -- to unlock the Nazi enigma machine and win the war. After the Second World War, the UR BZRK Warlok unit continued to develop new codes and tools to tackle war and hate, and move towards a future where "love is the law," ulti mately pursuing a polycultural utopia. Refecting on the past, present and future, this exhibition stages an environment that is at once fictional, historical and speculative. As part of the nation-wide Culture Days festivities, Oakville residents will have the opportunity to explore music, dance, visual arts and theatre at multiple locations including Queen Elizabeth Park Community and Cultural Centre (Q EPC C C ), Towne Square, Oakville Public Library, Bronte Village, Lions Valley, Oakville Centre for the Perform ing Arts and Oakville Galleries. Highlights from this year's lineup include an Improv work shop with the Oakville Improv Theatre Company, Oakville W ind Orchestra's Instrument Zoo and Saxophone Quartet performance, a Truth and Reconciliation movie night and comm unity conversation, a family art workshop and a spe cial Oakville Symphony performance celebrating 150 years of music in Canada.
