It' s great to see the community coming togeth er for an evening of great entertainment, food and, of course, shopping. Much as we enjoyed it, there are a couple of areas where I think improvements could be made. For people buying food from vendors that do not have their own enclosures, it would be beneficial to have some extra seating available. It can be tricky trying to eat with a plate of curry or pad Thai in one hand and a drink in the other, as well as being a potential hazard to passers by! I'm sure that some tables and chairs set up in the side streets adjacent to Lakeshore Road would be much appreciated. The other area is the music. We were at Mid night Madness until about 9:30 p.m. and up to that time we saw only two live bands. In previ ous years there have been several bands, playing at various locations along the main street. This year there were DJs providing some of the musi cal entertainment, but for an event like Midnight Madness, there' s nothing to beat live music to add to the vibe. John Gerrard, CEO of Habitat said, "We are tremendously grateful to be able to hire students through the Canada Sum mer Jobs (CSJ) program. There is no question that having these students allows us to provide more affordable housing in our community."
