An Oakville family is reaching out to the community for help in bringing home their beloved dog, Toby, who is missing. Toby is an eight-year-old white Bichon Shih Tzu with a grey face and ears, and has been described as an approachable and "very very friendly" dog, according to his owner Ishrani Henry. Toby went missing Monday, June 12 and was last seen in Henrys neighbourhood, near Emily Carr Public School in the Westmount area. Henry noted the dog has been spotted and children have called his name while looking for him, but every time they do, he goes into hiding. She believes he escaped from the house through a broken screen door and then through a gate that wasn't secure. Toby With ongoing support from the Oakville Milton Humane Society (OMHS) and two independent canine trackers, efforts to find Toby have been expanded by alerting the community, while search and trapping efforts continue. Henry noted most reported sightings have been dismissed or are unconfirmed, and only two, thus far, are believed to have been Toby, last seen Tuesday, June 20. "Toby is still likely to be in Westmount or in one of the neighbouring areas," she said. "If you walk in to an area Toby is hiding, he will move away. Keep an eye in all areas ahead for him moving." Those who have seen or found Toby can call 905-484-0392. They can also call the Oakville and Milton Humane Society at 905-845-1551.
