Dennis (Dinesh) Khanna, of Oakville, was charged with two additional counts of fraud over $5,000 last week. He is also accused of charging a criminal rate of interest.The new charges come amid an ongoing investigation involving multiple agencies and police services into Khanna's business practices. Last month, the Financial Services Tribunal announced it would not reissue Khannas mortgage broker licence or renew the licence of his Hamilton-based company, Metro Financial Planning Ltd. The tribunal found: "Mr. Khanna forged and falsified documents and registered fraudulent mortgages on title. "He has shown a flagrant predisposition for deceit and dishonesty in every aspect of his business. In conducting his business he has preyed upon vulnerable borrowers in financial and personal distress to his own advantage." Khanna is to appear next in court on Aug. 28. He was previously charged with 11 counts of fraud over $5,000, three counts of giving a false statement, two counts of producing false documents and three counts of forging documents. Khanna was also charged with one count of sexual assault after police received complaints from a woman who reported she'd been sexually assaulted at his King Street West, Hamilton office.
