Ian Anderson House is a hospice in Oakville for terminally-ill patients. The concert is at the request and memory ofJack Patterson, who lived the last three weeks of his life's journey at IAH. He passed on Oct. 3, 2016. His brother, Paul, is organizing the concert. "The staff and volunteers at IAH were wonderful," said Paul. "Jack asked me one last favour, to organize a fundraising event for IAH as a thank you from him. So, I have." The OWO is a well-known orchestra in Oakville. It is also the oldest community concert band in Canada. DOCA Brass is a product of the De La Salle Oakland Crusaders Alumni, founded in 2008. The concert, which begins at 8 p.m., features the 30-voice choir of St Jude's Church, the ASLAN Boys Choir of Toron to, under the directorship of Thomas Bell, and the Hamil ton-based chamber choir Vo ces Animae , directed by John John Laing Laing. The St Jude's choir will be dian composer Healey Willan. joining Voces Animae to sing Celebration of the Arts is An Apostrophe to the Heavenly pleased to welcome back two Host, a masterpiece for double of St Jude' s former directors choir, composed by the first of music: Thomas Bell, who internationally-famous Cana- is now director of music at well choral directors and will be showcasing some of their own works at the concert. Simon Walker, director of music at St Jude's, recently cel ebrated his five-year anniver sary at the church. During his tenure, the choir has grown significantly and taken part in numerous concerts and tours, including a week's residency at the Ripon Cathedral in Eng land in 2015.
