The town must consider how to accommodate required growth given that development in all areas of the town is underway or planned. Instead of developing outward, the town needs to determine the best approach for managing development within the town's existing boundaries. Oakville's Urban Structure Review is looking at the town's urban structure -- including natural heritage and open space, as well as residential, commercial, G> OAKVILLE oakville.ca employment and mixed-use areas - to see if changes are necessary to accommodate growth. The purpose of these draft amendments is to incorporate intothe Livable Oakville Plan modifications to the text and schedules in order to provide for a town-wide urban structure and establish the basis for official plan policy and for making planning decisions. The draft amendments will provide a framework for where and how the town will grow, while protecting greenspaces and established neighbourhoods from development pressure. The amendments will also provide for revisions to the North Oakville East and West Secondary Plans to align them with the changes to the Livable Oakville Plan. Drop in and provide your input!
