Friday October 27,2000 THE OAKVILLE BEAVER 15 Halloween Capers at Bronte Creek The Ghosts and Goblins of Halloween will be finding their way into Bronte Creek Provincial Park this weekend during "Halloween Capers. " On Saturday, from 5 to 6 p.m. Storyteller Pauline Grondin presents "The Legends of Halloween" -- a col lection of historical Halloween Folk Tales. The cost to see the storyteller is $2 per person. Following this, join the Nature Centre staff for "Scary Creatures Revealed," a night hike which takes place from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Learn about owl calls and coyote calls, and how scary animals are really pretty cool. There is no extra cost associated with the hike, and it is important that you pre-register for this event by calling the Nature Centre at 905-827-6911 ext. 231. The Haunted House and spooky bams will be open this weekend from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Other activities include: face-painting, a guessing jar, a pumpkin carving contest, Halloween bingo, Halloween tic-tac-toe. farm games (including an egg toss: $1 an egg with all proceeds going to the United Way), bunny races ($2 per vote with all proceeds going to the United Way), sac races, a scavenger hunt, a costume parade, and much more. The Friends of Bronte Creek will be oper ating wagon rides this weekend as well, and kids... don't forget to wear your costume!
