Pablo is now blind, deaf and suffers from canine dementia. To honour their time together, Khalid recently organized a community walk for Pablo, in Oakville. Between 30 and 40 people, which included neighbours and friends, came out for the walk Saturday, Jan. 14, that began/ended with Pablo walking the red carpet at the entrance to the Sixteen Mile Creek Trail. Some of the participants were carrying balloons and holding signs that read `We Love You Pablo.' Others brought their own pets to the community walk. "He' s seen me grow up," says Khalid, who rescued the Australian terrier as a pup from a farm in Tilbury, Ont. Khalid says she wanted to honour her time with him in a way that is filled with memories for her, by going on a final walk through the trails.
