Members were also entertained by some of the stars who will be appear ing in the new season. This summer's lineup includes Patricia O'Callaghan, who will partici pate in the Oakville Jazz Festival with her renditions of cabaret and art songs on Saturday, July 8th. And, of course, the Royal Bank Fes tival of Classics will present its annual Shakespearean production in Corona tion Park. This year, Much Ado About Nothing will be played out on the nat ural stage by the lake, Mondays through Saturdays, from July 19th to Aug. 12th. Then, on Thursday, Aug. 17th, Oakville guitarist Johannes Linstead will entertain at the centre with his Latin tunes and contemporary rhythms. The fall season will open with the Mattamy Homes Family Series' presen tation of Spud Trek on Sept. 10th, fol lowed by Smythe and Saucier on Nov. 12th. These performances will feature puppetry and magic. East coast musical comedian Nancy White will keep audiences laughing with her musical satire of political events and celebrities on Sept. 22nd and 23 rd. The voices of the Men of the Deeps will reveal the songs and folklore of Cape Breton on Sept. 29th, and on Oct. 4th the sophisticated Holly Cole will entertain with her melodious voice. The Ennis Sisters, stars of last year's Needfire , will follow on Oct. 15th. Then on Oct. 22nd, impressionist Martin Dube will offer his incredible five-octave range, and on Oct. 27th Jesse Cook will return with his master ful guitar playing. Carol Welsman will present Swing Ladies Swing on Oct. 28th, followed by talented Canadian songster Susan Aglukark on Nov. 1st. Kevin Bradshaw and Carol Ann Feldstein will present anecdotes from the life of Andrew Lloyd Weber in The Music o f Andrew Lloyd Weber on Nov. 3rd, and the popular Liona Boyd will reveal the talents that have given her a unique position in the world of classi cal guitar on Nov. 11th. The fall season will come to a close on Dec. 3rd with Rawlin's Cross, a group of accomplished Celtic rock musicians with an unusual organic sound. The Comedy Series this fall is sure to tickle your fancy when Lucien' s Labour Lost offers opinions on every thing from politics to marriage to the afterlife. Then on Nov. 24th and 25th, get ready to shop 'til you drop with Ivanka and her sister Marucia in Ivanka Deliv ers the Goods, a sequel to last year's hit, I Can Sing! Can't I? The Christmas season at the Oakville Centre will begin with the Nuncrackers' "nunsense" on Nov. 28th, followed by a new performance by the Arrogant Worms on Nov. 30th. Then December starts off with the hand-clapping, feet-stomping music of the Irish Rovers on the first, followed by the Oakville Children's Choir of over 100 voices on Dec. 2nd and 3rd. The perennial favourite The Nut cracker will fill the auditorium with Tchaikovsky's musical Christmas story from Dec. 7th to 10th. Fanfare Theatri cal Productions will present the popular Wizard of Oz from Dec. 15th to 17th, a deviation from its usual Mr. Scrooge. For a membership fee of $30, Big Ticket members receive savings of 20% on up to six tickets for the shows of their choice, first chance at the best seats in the house, mailing list priority, and special offers from associated restaurants and retailers. Big Ticket Plus memberships are $60 and include all the benefits of Big Ticket memberships, along with an additional 5% off ticket prices, with a limit of 10 tickets per show, and a tax receipt for $30.
