Betty was born on June 6, 1942 in Harcourt, New Brunswick and resided in Oakville, O ntario. She was a devoted w ife, loving mother, grandm other and great-grandm other. Her fam ily was her most im portant. Lovingly rem em bered by her husband of 58 years, Murdock and her daughters Sheila and Sherry. Fondly rem em bered by her five grand children and five great-grand children; Roy (Jill), Christa (Tony), Ashley, Tyler, Nicole, Emmery, Ella, Reed, Maximus, Lyndsey. Cherished sister o f Dorothy (Cecil), Lorraine (John), Bob (Carol) and Clyde (M yna). Predeceased by her parents A rth ur and M aude, her sisters M adeline (Cecil) and Beulah (Ernest) and her bother Harry (Betty). Betty touched so many and will be greatly missed by all her fam ily and friends. Services w ere held at th e W ard Funeral Home, Oakville. Love you beyond the m o o n ."X o POPPLEWELL, Margaret Elizabeth 1915 - 2016 M argaret passed away peacefully December 19, 2016 in her 102nd year at Oakville Trafalgar Hospital surrounded by her family. M argaret was one of 10 children born to John and Sarah Picket of Oakville. Predeceased by her husband Edgar Raymond (Bob) Popplewell in 2005, son Donald in 1948 and her 10 siblings Dorothy, Claude, Vernon, Harry, Gladys, Edna, Mary, Edith and John. Survived by son Raymond (Beth) and daughter Susan; grandchildren Melissa Homeniuk (Jeff) (Calgary) and Todd (Donna) Popplewell (W aterloo); great grandchildren Joanna, Sophie, Katie, Christian and Jackson plus many nieces and nephews. M argaret graduated from Ham ilton General Nursing School in 1941 and worked as a nurse at Oakville Trafalgar Hospital until the early 1950's, then she did th e books for her husband's business fo r many years. M argaret was a long tim e parishioner at St. Paul's U nited Church and a m em ber of the Eastern Star. M argaret loved to play bridge and euchre w ith fam ily and friends over her many years. Many thanks to St. Paul's minister Rev. Lexie Chamberlain for all her visits and support as well as the staff at Oakville Trafalgar Hospital's Palliative care unit. A thank you also to Halton CCAC for their care over the last years w hile M argaret resided at Del M anor Retirem ent Home. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 22, 11:00 a.m. at the Kopriva Taylor Funeral Home , 64 Lakeshore Rd. West, Oakville. Cremation has taken place and interm ent in th e fam ily plot will occur later in the spring.
