Marooned in Space! follows a band of unlikely adventurers who are marooned in deep space, with only a cartoonist to lead them. Pearson's background has been primarily as a TV writer, having written for shows such as MadTV, This Hour Has 22 Minutes, Corner Gas and Sunnyside. He is the winner of a Canadian Screen Award, Writer's Guild Award and Canadian Comedy Award for writing for television. Comedy night at Moonshine Café The comedy night takes place at The Moonshine Café, 137 Kerr St., at 7:30 p.m. and will feature the comedic stylings of: Dan Redican (The Frantics, Puppets Who Kill); Geri Hall (This Hour Has 22 Minutes, Little Mosque on the Prairie); Jan Caruana (winner of Best Female Improv performer in Canada); Alastair Forbes (Sunnyside); Rob Baker (The Second City) and Oakville Improv cast members from last summer's Oakville's Own Super Hero. The annual full-length production takes the stage at the Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts, 130 Navy St., and features students for the Oakville School of Classical Ballet. Returning guest artist Tyler Gledhill will dance the roles of Snow Prince and Sugar Plum's Cavalier, and will be partnered by six senior students from the Oakville School of Classical Ballet. Gledhill trained at The National Ballet School in Toronto, Het National Balletacademie in Amsterdam, and The Pacific Northwest Ballet School in Seattle. Oakville Ballet's performance of The Nutcracker has been produced annually for more than 30 years, with the past 20 years under the artistic direction of Amanda Paterson.
