It is preparing to argue its vision for the land north of Dundas and east of Sixteen Mile Creek against the vision of developers -- who have come up with their own secondary plan anek challenged the town's secondary planning process to the Ontario Municipal Board (0MB). Appeals were filed in late 2004 and 2005 by a group of north Oakville develop er/landowners : who are known collectively as NOMI (North Oakville- Manage ment Inc.). It effectively derailed the town's planning process and put the decision before the 0MB instead of the town. An estimated ninemonth 0MB hearing, esti mated to cost the town some $13 million, is set to begin Aug. 9. The challenge means it will now be the 0MB, not the town, that decides the face of north Oakville east of Sixteen Mile Creek.
