The well-received Young Artists Studio continues under the leadership of Miss Myriam, an early childhood educator, an art educator, a singer, a poet and a writer. Responding to the changing needs of the community, the Oakville Arts Studio has expanded its services to include the following classes: ·Sketch and Illustrate Anime and Manga offered by Beata Klisowska, a graduate from Max the Mutt College of Animation ·Art Design in Toronto Sculpture offered by Bert Jackson, who has extensive experience in a variety of media ·Collage art is offered by International Reid Award of Excellence winner Joanna Turlej, an Honours graduate from OCAD University · Printmaking studio: lino, mono and silkscreen offered by Sheila Greenland, who has been teaching at Sheridan College for more than 15 years; the same course will be offered in Spanish by Silvia Damar Radvanski, a graduate from the Cauca University in Colombia with a BA in Visual Arts and a member of numerous art groups. · Young Filmmakers & Photography Club: This new to Oakville group is geared toward teens that want to learn more about this medium. It is offered by Esteban Powell, graduate of Sheridan College and who is currently in his second year of Film Production at York University. · Piano, guitar and vocal training is offered by Dimitar Pentchev, an award-winning composer, pianist and producer who has written music for theatre, film and the concert stage. In addition to these classes, the Oakville Arts Studio will continue their Oakville Arts Studio offers classes for art enthusiasts popular Wine Not Art?, Glow in the Dark drop in sessions, birthday parties, corporate events. The studio will also be continuing art for adults, seniors and individuals with special needs. Starting in the fall 2016, the studio will also open the one-of-a-kind Canadian Tapestry Centre, focusing on the production of tapestry weaving and textile art, and teaching new generations about textile art. This initiative will reach out to senior centres to collaborate with other textile related groups and institutions.
