Seniors can defer property taxes under new program Halton Region is accepting applications for a taxdeferral program for low-income older adults next month Halton Region is offering a new Older Adults Property Tax Deferral Program to help eligible low-income older adults in Halton stay in their homes and communities. The program aims to help participants defer the full value of their annual property taxes, interest-free, to help them manage the rising costs of home ownership. "The Older Adults Property Tax Deferral Program will help participants focus their resources on staying healthy and independent in our community," said Halton Regional Chair Gary Carr, in a press release. "Halton Region is committed to enhancing the health and well-being of residents of all ages through its programs and services.
