"A Christmas gift that will last for ever and support our beautiful Heritage Trails, what better gift?" asks Olscamp, who also had her brother Robert Rousel's name inscribed in his memory. The trails pass through areas of nat ural beauty where wildlife still abounds, where human activity has lit tle impact, or where nature has recov ered after human use has ceased or changed. They take us to the places where Oakville's history has occurred, where settlements began, enterprise flour ished, neighbourhoods grew and insti tutions developed, where, over the generations, people individually or collectively, shaped the town. The fundraiser, an initia tive of the Community Foundation of O akville's Heritage Trails Project offers the citizens of Oakville a chance to become a part of Oakville's legacy. Individuals, families or groups can have their names or chosen Oakville memory inscribed forever on a panel at Oakville Harbour in Tannery Park. An individual name (one line with a maximum of 25 letters including spaces) costs only $50 and a family name or memory (two lines) costs $100. You can also include a historical or old family pho tograph (various prices depending on size). A letter of Certification from the mayor and a tax receipt for the full amount of your donation will be issued by the Community Foundation.
