During a special council meeting held at Town Hall Monday, council voted to have a by-election. The vacancy was created when former Ward 2 councillor Pam Damoff left the position after being elected MP of the new Oakville North-Burlington riding during last fall's federal election. Nominations opened Tuesday. Those wishing to run for the seat have until Feb. 26 to do so. Ward 2 is bounded by Third Line and Sixteen Mile Creek, south of the QEW to Lake Ontario. During Monday's meeting, council also approved advance voting dates and hours.
