Entries must be submitted no later than Sept. 1. Pictures and completed entry forms must be dropped off at the Nature Centre in Bronte Creek Provincial Park, which is located on Burloak Drive just north of the QEW. Participants can submit up to three photos portraying the selected theme. Each entry must include a fully completed entry form and the photographer's name and phone number on the back of each print. Colour or black-and-white prints up to 5" x 7" in size will be accepted. Winners will be contacted by phone by Sept. 30. First prize will be Minolta Activa 10 x 50W binoculars; second prize will be Minolta Activa 7 x 35 W binoculars; and third prize will be Minolta Compact 8 x 25W binoculars. Ontario Renaissance Festival Take a trip to 16th century England Her Royal Highness, Queen Elizabeth I, invites you to join her royal court for a day of feasting, fun and frolic in Trillingham, a 16th century English village. This English Tudor village will welcome visitors Saturdays and Sundays from July 21 to Sept. 3, as well as on the Civic Holi day and Labour Day, from 10:30 a.m; to 7 p.m. Nestled in 250 acres of wooded grove and fields, the Ontario Renaissance Festival in Milton captures the ambience of an Eng lish country village complete with winding lanes, charming shops, period amusements, mud-beggars and comely wenches. An array of handmade crafts can also be found, including leather work, clothing, woodwork, glass blowing, stoneware, armour, and precious metal sculptures. Browse the shops or enjoy the entertain ment while sampling the feast of foods savoury selections that include steak on a stake, smoked turkey legs, knave sandwich es and desserts as well as ales, mead, soft drinks, lemonade, iced tea and assorted wines. Children of all ages can test their bal ance on Jacob's Ladder, shoot for a bull'seye at archery, display their creativity with hand waxing or lord above the crowds atop the quintain. Free pony rides and a free children's activities area are also available. In its inaugural season, the Renaissance Festival attracted more than 25,000 visitors over 13 days, with estimates for this year reaching the 60,000 mark. Ticket prices, which include taxes, are $16.95 for adults, $15.50 for those aged 62 and over, and $8.95 for those aged 7 to 15.
