T Friends of Oakville Public Library Book Sale opens to public Nov. 12 is a group of volunteers dedicated to supporting library programs and services for all. It holds two book sales every year -- one in the spring (April) and one in the fall (November), with pop-up sales occurring sporadically throughout summer months. Through these sales and other activities, the Friends have generated more than $500,000, which has been used to support library services, such as TD Summer Reading Club, Battle of the Books, teen writing workshops and more. If you are unable to visit the book sale, the Friends of the Oakville Public Library has set up `Friendly Finds' bookshelves at all library branches where a variety of CDs, DVDs or magazines can be purchased at a reasonable cost (25 cents to $1 per item) with pricing indicated at each location. Further information about the sale, volunteering with Friends of the Oakville Public Library or becoming a "Friend" to get early book sale access can be found at www.friendsofthelibrary.ca. You can also stay connected by following the "Friends" on Facebook and/or Twitter. -- Submitted by the Oakville Public Library 21 | Friday, November 6, 2015 | OAKVILLE BEAVER | www.insideHALTON.com he Friends of the Oakville Public Library's Fall Book Sale will be open to the public Nov. 12-15.
