From Friday, Oct. 9 to Monday, Oct. 12, police will be participating in Operation Impact, a traffic enforcement program, which will see officers target impaired drivers, people not wearing their seatbelts, aggressive drivers and distracted drivers. This year has seen several motor vehicle fatalities in Halton. Police said each of these deaths represents the tragic loss of a loved one and a senseless tragedy that in most cases could have been prevented. The annual participation of Halton police in Operation Impact represents an important part of the Halton police overall traffic strategy, which seeks to improve road safety through partnerships.
