Held at 2 Navy St., the day will start at approximately 9 a.m. with testing running through to 3 p.m. In the day's events will be an assault course, first-aid scenario, use of the dewatering pump/fire suppression hose on the pier, and a line toss. TOWARF is a Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary Unit and provides marine search and rescue service with the primary goal of saving lives at-risk in western Lake Ontario. Started in 1954 by then-Oakville police chief Fred Oliver, in partnership with the local boating community, TOWARF has been patrolling the waters of Lake Ontario off Oakville since then. With more than 75 trained volunteers, the rescue force is on duty 32 hours per week and on-call 24 hours a day, seven days a week to the Rescue Centre and Halton Regional Police Service during the boating season.
