Segota worked as an IT consultant for 21 years for the CIBC in Mississauga and the last 17 as a consultant with Intria Items Inc. The family moved from Mississauga to Oakville in 1997. Originally from Croatia, the couple came to Canada in 1990. "We've been together since 1985, but we were married in 1992 in Canada," Ines said. "We would have been together for 30 years." The Kaladar Fire Department went to the scene and discovered Segota was experiencing pain in one shoulder. He was also having trouble breathing. He was then transported by air ambulance to Kingston General Hospital. "The paramedics came and they thought he was going to be OK, but then he went into cardiac arrest in the ambulance when they landed," Ines said. "They tried to revive him in the hospital, but they couldn't." The family is still awaiting the official cause of death from a coroner. "My husband loved people and loved socializing," Ines said.
