Fireworks Sunday in north Oakville Residents looking to celebrate the Victoria Day long weekend are invited to take in a community fireworks display in north Oakville Sunday (May 17). In its second year hosting the event, King's Community Church will host the celebration at King's Christian Collegiate, 528 Burnhampthorpe Rd. W., just after dusk (at approximately 9 p.m.) Families, individuals and neighbours are encouraged to bring fireworks for the staff and volunteers at King's church for a co-ordinated show set to music. "Everyone is able to enjoy the show for as long as the firework supply lasts. There is lots of room for parking -- bring a blanket and lawn chairs, and come and enjoy a great family tradition on the Victoria Day weekend," said Paul Mittelstaedt, lead pastor at King's Community Church. "We are seeing the community of Oakville grow northward and King's Community Church wants to do its part to help grow friendly neighbourhoods in north Oakville."
