Special thanks to the ER Staff of OTMH, notably Tiffany, who helped us come to terms with our loss. Mom was in her 95th year and succumbed to an infection. Thanks also go to the many caring workers and the staff of the Oakville wing of the Waterford LTC here in Oakville and to Dr. Elgie, who cared for Mom throughout her 10 year stay. Colin Frederick Cunningham was born in Oakville, Ontario, on April 17, 1957, the son of the late Fred and Barbara (Sweetland) Cunningham and brother to the late Gail (Leon Honibal). Colin's career in graphic arts and design spanned many years. Later he worked for Data Media (Coverall Printing House). Colin was a military historian and an avid collector of miniatures, especially Britain's figures, and partnered with James Shakely for 20 years under the name of Queen Victoria's Enterprises. Colin loved reading military and historical works and gathered an extensive library. He loved the arts and listened to classical, rhythm and blues, and rock music, following the lives of the artists with intensity. He attended many live rock concerts and jazz festivals, and became a collector of artists' memorabilia. Colin had a personal relationship with Jesus his Savior and spent time listening to the old-time gospel hymns. Colin will be sadly missed by his loving wife and sweetheart of 17 years, Susan Galbraith, his three step-children, Andrew (Carolyn), Matthew (Corin), and Terrie Diane (Ken Orr), and his grandchildren Liam James, 8 and Cate Amelie, 6. He is also survived by his brothers Graham (Dord) and Eric (Wanda), sister Glynis, and nieces Lianne, Meagan and Rebecca, as well as many close friends and colleagues. Visitation will be held at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, (one block east of Kerr) 905-844-2600, Oakville on Saturday, April 25, 2015 from 3-5 and 7-9. A funeral to commemorate Colin's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 27, 2015 in the Kopriva Taylor Chapel. He was in his 72nd year. Jim is survived by his beloved wife Heidi and sons James (Ramona) and Darryl (Lisa). He will be greatly missed by his cherished grandchildren Victoria, Leah and Luke. Predeceased by his brother Rob and sister Gail, Jim leaves behind his brothers Harry and Leslie, his mother Phyllis, many nieces and nephews, and many friends. As a result of a very successful career in finance, Jim worked first in Ontario, then British Columbia, then England, and then finally moved back to Oakville, Ontario in the mid 1980s. He was hardworking and continued to work into his last weeks. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A memorial service will take place on Sunday, April 26, 2015 at 1 p.m. at Glen Oaks Funeral Home and Cemetery (3164 Ninth Line, Oakville) with visitation starting at 12 p.m. In lieu of flowers, for those who feel led to do so only, donations can be made to either the Salvation Army or the Oakville Humane Society.
