"We want Van Loan to know there are concerns about this," said protester Bev LeFrancois. "We just see this as more freedoms being taken away by a complicated bill that should really be looked at by all Canadians because this changes our country so much." Before an audience of around 60 people, Van Loan talked about the major points of the proposed Act, which he believes is a reasonable balance between improving national security and maintaining an open and free society.
